篇六、Only A Fool
其實在自由女神后冠上，Jensen那時最後堅定的眼神，已經代表著他下定決心要做一些改變或是突破了。自小Jensen就是有著跟媽媽一樣藝術家的偏執和堅持，一旦下定決心了，就會拿出百分之兩百的執行力去達到目標，但他並非是那種要求完全完美的那一類型，有時候只是一種不成功便成仁的心態，也可以說是不服輸的個性使然。
當天回到家後，Jensen拿起這幾個月來和他不太熟的吉他，先輕輕撥動琴弦，調整一下音準，讓自己因荒廢多時、稍嫌僵硬的手適應一下，沒有pick，純粹享受指腹撥動琴弦帶來的刺癢。
剛剛因為和Jared在車上的熱吻，持續未退的傻笑還掛在臉上，回想著兩人契合的唇和吻，回想著今天兩人共度的所有光景，回想著兩人每天在早餐吧的短暫相聚…Jensen撫著琴弦的手指，慢慢的彈奏出因為Jared而生的旋律，那是充滿的跳躍、愉快、滿滿的初戀悸動旋律…..隨著清脆的木吉他旋律….接著靈感一閃，把CASIO拿出來加上和弦伴奏，隨手拿到空白廢紙趕緊把旋律記下加上和弦的樂譜….
隨著歌曲旋律更趨完整，Jensen更隨著回想著和Jared相識、相處的一切，輕輕哼出單純簡單的詞句…

Jensen哼完心想笑了一下自己「原來戀愛的人都是傻子…Damn right!!!」
從來沒有想到自己的心會因為一個男人而動，甚至對以前的女友都從來沒這樣真實真切的悸動，即使只是單純的肢體碰觸，他都能感覺到那隱形的電流在他和Jared之間奔竄，但兩人始終一直壓抑著，沒有人想要打破成為衝破封鎖線的那一個，直到今天…直到今天這該死的美好的一天，讓Jensen終究情不自禁吻上那兩片他看起來該死的性感、吻起來該死的美好的雙唇…..
Jared的立刻回應讓他不安的心和顫抖的雙手鎮定了下來，他立刻知道他不是單方面的被吸引著，接著就是差點擦槍走火又令人窒息的熱吻……想到這Jensen自己竟忍不住傻笑了起來…還真的是名符其實的傻子！
Jensen快速的譜完曲、填完詞，從來沒有一首歌讓他如神助般的光速完成，連詞都填上去了！「Jared Padalecki….你是讓我著了什麼魔啊!!!??」邊咕噥著才放下手中吉他，卸下今天出門在外的一身緩步進浴室沖澡，洗完澡後完全放鬆下來的身體讓他快速的陷入被窩中，沉睡前最後的念頭是「明天記得找Pam談一談….」

又過了一個禮拜忙碌但仍無建樹的工作天，Jared趁著和前輩們跟跑新聞時，認真思考著Jensen那天跟他說的建議，然後看著這顆大蘋果的一切人事物，Jared終於下定決心……。
今天，故意提早到報社，決定在慌亂的早會之前鼓起勇氣先跟總編Gibbs談一談，大家都習慣叫Gibbs「Boss」，聽說是個不苟言笑、眼神可以讓你心驚膽跳的狠角色，但也聽說是個超挺底下記者的主管，對Jared這個菜鳥來說一切都只是聽說，直到….
Jared鼓起勇氣敲了門，看著門上寫著『CHIEF EDITOR』深吸了一口氣，然後馬上聽到冷淡的回應「Come in!!」
Jared吐了一口大氣之後開門進去，看到俐落灰白短髮的Gibbs正背對著他看著牆上2台42吋液晶電視上的CNN及ABC的晨間新聞….
Jared半試探的開口「Mr. Gibbs… 我是實習生Jared Pada….」，Jared還沒講完自己的全名，只聽到Gibbs說的一聲「Boss」，Jared愣了一下才反應過來是跟他說叫「Boss」就好。
「呃…Boss，我是實習生Jared Pada….」，這次Jared又沒說完，Gibbs接著又開口「我知道你是誰…直接說你想要幹麻吧?」
Jared又嚇了一跳心想「紐約時報的總編怎麼會記得我這個無名小卒…」，當Jared還在心想的時候…. Gibbs又開口解答了Jared心中的疑慮「別想了，我記得我底下每個記者的名字和樣子…快說有什麼事吧?」
Jared心底因為這樣偷偷給Gibbs加了幾分，之後趕緊說出敲門進來的目的「是的..Mr. Gibbs，喔…不，Boss，我來這裡實習三個月了，我在想是否有機會可以讓我寫幾張採訪稿，我想要試試看…..」
「在這裡沒有試試看，只有作和不作、寫及不寫，社會新聞嗎??!!」Gibbs立刻犀利的打斷Jared的話，並且直接點出Jared最初的志願，其實Gibbs說話的口氣不疾不徐，但從他的口中說出的話卻是篤定、堅毅，可以感受出這個人有非常強大的堅定力和意志力。不過Jared雖然又有點被這一番話刺激到，但他自己也不知道哪來的勇氣直接說出「不，我想要寫大都會線的新聞….」這下反倒換成Gibbs有點訝異了，終於轉身過來用他犀利的眼神對上Jared堅定的雙眼。
「我記得社會新聞是你的第一志願，而大都會新聞從來就沒有在你的履歷中出現過。」Gibbs動作中雖帶著訝異，但仍從容的問著Jared。
一對上Gibbs的眼神，Jared也不知道哪來的勇氣「Boss，就當作我之前太天真吧！這近三個月下來我最終的決定就是大都會線，如果寫得不好或是你覺得不夠格，我欣然接受，但我有信心我可以寫出讓你滿意的稿子，這就是我的決定！」
Gibbs犀利堅定的眼神始終不變，盯著Jared十來秒，眼皮連眨都沒眨，搞得Jared差點露出緊張的神色，而且手汗早就可以擠出水了「明天開始，一個月時間！今天下班立刻去找組長報到。」Gibbs快速的說完決定，又立刻轉身繼續看著牆上的電視，Jared愣了幾秒才咧嘴笑開…「Yes Sir! Boss!」…忍住差點要跳起來的衝動，趕快轉身開門離開這間讓他彷彿待了半世紀之久的『CHIEF EDITOR』辦公室，一關上門，Jared立刻握拳激勵自己，輕聲喊出「Yes!!!」…..
而辦公室那一頭的Gibbs待Jared關上門，轉身拿起電話撥給遠在德州的學妹-Sera Gamble教授，「Sera、Gibbs。Padalecki這小子確實有我當年的傻勁，越來越有趣了….」

P.S：忘了補充，Gibbs一角是選自NCIS裡面的老大啦~~看了他的演出更容易想像Jared的緊張喔!!!接著後面會出現的Tony也是出自NCIS囉!!!
